Non-medical home care services

Everyday support, offered with Malasakit.

Thoughtful help with daily routines, meals, companionship and more, so your loved one can feel comfortable and respected at home.

Every family’s situation is different. We begin by listening, then shape non-medical services around your loved one’s preferences, routines and independence. It is never a one-size-fits-all checklist.

Light Housekeeping

Help with laundry, dishes and tidying areas used by the client.

A tidy, comfortable space can make home feel calmer and easier to move around in. Light housekeeping focuses on the areas your loved one uses every day, so home stays welcoming without the strain of keeping up with chores.

  • Laundry, folding and putting clothes away
  • Washing dishes and tidying the kitchen
  • Changing bed linens
  • Tidying living areas, bedroom and bathroom used by the client

Light housekeeping covers areas used by the client. It is not a deep-cleaning or whole-house cleaning service.

Companionship

Conversation, activities and meaningful connection throughout the day.

Companionship is at the heart of Malasakit. Sometimes the most meaningful support is simply a caring person to talk with, share a hobby with, or enjoy a quiet afternoon with.

  • Conversation and genuine, unhurried attention
  • Sharing hobbies, games, puzzles, music or reading
  • Looking through photos and sharing stories
  • Encouraging light activity and time outdoors when appropriate

Moving around home with confidence matters. Our caregivers offer a steady, attentive hand with walking, positioning and transfers, following the approach agreed in the care plan.

  • Standby support and a steady arm while walking
  • Help moving between bed, chair and wheelchair as outlined in the care plan
  • Repositioning for comfort
  • Support getting in and out of the home for outings when appropriate

Mobility assistance is non-medical. We do not provide physical therapy or rehabilitation.

Medication Reminders

Non-medical reminders to follow an established medication routine.

Keeping track of a daily routine can be hard. Our caregivers offer friendly, non-medical reminders so your loved one can follow the medication schedule that is already in place.

  • Friendly verbal reminders at the agreed times
  • Prompts that fit into the existing daily routine
  • Letting family know if a reminder seems to have been missed
  • Encouraging meals and water alongside the routine

Services are non-medical; we do not provide nursing, medical treatment or medication administration. Caregivers do not handle, measure, sort or give medications.

Respite Care

Non-medical support at home so family caregivers can take time to rest and recharge.

Caring for someone you love is meaningful, and it can also be exhausting. Respite support means a caring, trusted person spends time with your loved one at home, so family caregivers can step away to work, rest or take care of themselves.

  • Time with your loved one while family caregivers step away
  • The same non-medical services described on this site, as agreed in the care plan
  • Companionship, meals and daily routines kept consistent
  • A clear handoff so you know how the time went
